Philip Hart and Marcia Boardman discuss which candidate to appoint.
(Philip Hart ႏွင့္ Marcia Boardman တို႔သည္ မည္သည့္အလုပ္ေလွ်ာက္ထားသူကို ခန္႔ရမည္ဆိုသည္ကို တိုင္ပင္ေနၾကသည္။)

Philip Hart : So…what did you think?
(ကဲ…ခင္ဗ်ားဘယ္လိုထင္လဲ?)

Marcia Boardman : Well … between Sarah Timms and Daniel Watson – I think the choice is pretty obvious! 

(Sarah Timms နဲ႔ Daniel Watson တို႔ၾကားမွာဆိုရင္ေတာ့ ဘယ္သူ႔ကို ေရြးရမယ္ဆိုတာ ထင္ရွားေနတာပဲလို႔ထင္ပါတယ္။)

Philip Hart : Yes – so do I. Watson looked so good on paper …
(ဟုတ္တယ္ - ကြ်န္ေတာ္ေရာပဲ။ ၀က္ဆင္ ကေတာ့ စာရြက္ေပၚမွာေတာ့ အျမင္လွတယ္…)

Marcia Boardman : He seemed very good when I first spoke to him too …
(ကြ်န္မနဲ႔စကားစေျပာတုန္းကလဲသင့္ေတာ္မယ္လို႔ ထင္ခဲ့ရတယ္…)

Philip Hart : First impressions often lie!
(ပထမအျမင္ကေတာ့ တစ္ခါတစ္ေလ လြဲတတ္တယ္ဗ်!)

Marcia Boardman : Indeed … I think a lot of his CV was – how shall we say? “Counterfactual”
(အမွန္ပါပဲ … သူရဲ႕ ကိုယ္ေရးအခ်က္အလက္ အမ်ားစုက - ဘယ္လိုေျပာရမလဲ? “အတုေတြ”)

Philip Hart : Yes – it just wasn’t true! You should never lie on your CV …
(ဟုတ္တယ္။ အဲ့ဒါေတြက မမွန္ဘူး! ကိုယ့္ရဲ႕ကိုယ္ေရးအခ်က္အလက္မွာေတာ့ ဘယ္ေတာ့မွ မညာသင့္ပါဘူး…)

Marcia Boardman : He had very good references, though – very strange.
(ဒါေပမယ့္ သူ႔မွာခိုင္မာတဲ့ ေထာက္ခံခ်က္ေတြရွိခဲ့တယ္။ အရမ္္းထူးဆန္းတာပဲ။)

Philip Hart : I guess some people just like that sort of style, but he wouldn’t fit in with us…I mean, it’s important to be confident – but he was overconfident.
(တစ္ခ်ိဳ႕လူေတြကေတာ့ ဒီလိုလူမ်ိဳးကို သေဘာက်တယ္ထင္ပါရဲ႕။ ဒါေပမယ့္ သူဟာ ကြ်န္ေတာ္တို႔နဲ႔ ကိုက္ညီမွာ မဟုတ္ပါဘူး။ ကြ်န္ေတာ္ဆိုလိုတဲ့သေဘာက ကိုယ့္ကိုယ္ကို ယံုၾကည့္မႈရွိတာေတာ့ အေရးၾကီးေပမယ့္ သူကေတာ့ သူ႔ကိုယ္သူ ယံုၾကည္မႈ လြန္ကဲေနတယ္။)

Marcia Boardman : I couldn’t agree more. His body language was all wrong … he came across as arrogant.
(ကြ်န္မလည္းသေဘာတူတယ္။ သူ႕ရဲ႕ကိုယ္ဟန္အမူအရာေတြက လြဲမွားေနတယ္။ မာန္တက္ေနသလို ထင္ရတယ္။)

Philip Hart : Then he gave very vague answers – no specific details of what exactly he’d done in his job…
(ျပီးေတာ့သူဟာ မေရရာတဲ့ အေျဖေတြပဲ ေပးခဲ့တယ္။ အရင္ အလုပ္မွာ ဘာေတြလုပ္ခဲ့တယ္ဆိုတာ တိက်တဲ့ အခ်က္အလက္ေတြမရွိဘူး။)

Marcia Boardman : Wheras Sarah Timms …
(Sarah Timms က်ေတာ့…)

Philip Hart : … knew exactly what she was talking about …
(… သူဘာေျပာေနတယ္ဆိုတာ သူသိတယ္။)

Marcia Boardman : Yes, she was very convincing, self-assured, but not arrogant.
(ဟုတ္တယ္။ သူမေျပာတာေတြဟာ ယံုၾကည္လက္ခံရေလာက္တယ္၊ ကိုယ့္ကိုယ္ကုိလည္း ယံုၾကည္ခ်က္အျပည့္အ၀ ရွိေပမယ့္ ေမာက္မာမႈေတာ့မရွိဘူး။)

Philip Hart : She’d clearly done some research on the company, and knew what she was talking about.
(ကုမၸဏီနဲ႔ပတ္သက္လို႔လည္း သုေတသနလုပ္ခဲ့တာေတာ့ ထင္ရွားေနတာပဲ။ ျပီးေတာ့ သူဘာေျပာေနလည္းဆိုတာကို သူ႕ဟာသူ သေဘာေပါက္တယ္။)

Marcia Boardman : I thought her presentation was excellent.
(သူမရဲ႕တင္ျပခ်က္က အရမ္းေကာင္းတယ္လို႔ ကြ်န္မထင္တယ္။)

Philip Hart : Yes, it was, but I am a little worried about how much experience she has …
(ဟုတ္တယ္၊ အရမ္းေကာင္းပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္ သူ႔အေတြ႕အၾကံဳဘယ္ေလာက္ရွိလဲဆိုတာနဲ႔ ပတ္သက္လို႔ေတာ့ စိတ္ပူမိတယ္။)

Marcia Boardman : Yes, true, but she seems very ready to take on the challenges the role would offer her.
(ဟုတ္တယ္၊ မွန္ပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္ သူ႕ၾကည့္ရတာ ကြ်န္မတို႔ေပးမယ့္ အလုပ္ရာထူးရဲ႕ အခက္အခဲေတြကို ရင္ဆိုင္ဖို႔ အသင့္ျဖစ္ေနပံုပဲ။)

Philip Hart : So? Who do we give the job to?
(ဒါဆို? ငါတို႔ဘယ္သူ႔ကို အလုပ္ေပးမလဲ?)

Marcia Boardman : Sarah!
(ဆာရာ!)

Philip Hart : Yes, I agree entirely!
(ဟုတ္တယ္၊ ကြ်န္ေတာ္လည္း လံုး၀ သေဘာတူတယ္။)

Marcia Boardman : Great! I’ll phone her straight away offering the post … and I’ll write a rejection to Mr. Watson.
(ေကာင္းပါျပီ။ ကြ်န္မသူ႔ကို အလုပ္ခန္႔ေၾကာင္း ခ်က္ခ်င္း ဖုန္းဆက္လိုက္မယ္ … ျပီးေတာ့ မစၥတာ ၀က္ဆန္ ဆီလည္း ျငင္းပယ္ေၾကာင္းအေၾကာင္းၾကားစာ ေရးလိုက္မယ္။)

Philip Hart : OK.
