With a bit of luck (ကံေကာင္းမယ္ဆိုရင္)
You say with a bit of luck when you hope that you will be fortunate enough for something to happen:
ကံေကာင္းမယ္ဆိုရင္ (with a bit of luck) ကို တစ္စံုတစ္ခုျဖစ္ေပၚလာေစရန္ ကံအေၾကာင္းတိုက္ဆုိက္မႈရွိလာေစရန္ ေမွ်ာ္လင့္သည့္ အခ်ိန္တြင္ ေျပာဆိုႏုိင္သည္။
1. With a bit of luck we should reach home before midnight.
ကံေကာင္းမယ္ဆိုရင္ အိမ္ကို ညသန္းေခါင္မေရာက္ခင္ ျပန္ေရာက္ႏုိင္တယ္။
2. With a bit of luck we'll find a cheap hotel down by the beach.
ကံေကာင္းမယ္ဆိုရင္ ကမ္းေျခမွာ ေစ်းေပါေပါနဲ႔ ဟိုတယ္ ရႏိုင္မယ္။
What did I tell you? (မင္းကိုငါဘာေျပာခဲ့လဲ)
You say what did I tell you? when you have been proved to be right about something, especially when you had warned someone that something bad might happen:
မင္းကိုငါဘာေျပာခဲ့လဲ (what did I tell you?) ကို တစ္စုံတစ္ခုႏွင့္ပတ္သက္၍ မွန္ကန္ေၾကာင္း ကို သက္ေသျပႏုိင္သည့္အခါ၊ အထူးသျဖင့္ တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္အား ဆိုးရြားစြာ ျဖစ္ေပၚလာႏုိင္သည့္ကိစၥတစ္ခုခုႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္၍ သတိေပးထားသည့္အခါမ်ိဳးတြင္ သံုးႏုိင္သည္။
1. What did I tell you? I said that Jane couldn't do the job and now she's been sacked.
မင္းကိုငါဘာေျပာခဲ့ဲလဲ၊ Jane က အလုပ္ကို မလုပ္ႏုိင္ပါဘူးလုိ႔ေျပာခဲ့သားပဲ အခုေတာ့ သူမလည္း အလုပ္ထုတ္ခံထိျပီ။
2. What did I tell you? I warned you that Tom is always late and now he's late for his own wedding.
မင္းကိုငါဘာေျပာခဲ့လဲ၊ ငါသတိေပးခဲ့သားပဲ Tom က အျမဲတမ္းေနာက္က်တယ္လို႔ အခုေတာ့သူက သူက သူကိုယ္တုိင္ေဆာင္မယ့္ မဂၤလာေဆာင္ကိုေတာင္ ေနာက္က်ေနျပီ။
The expression I told you so has a similar meaning:
ငါေျပာခဲ့တယ္ေလ (I told you so) ဆုိသည့္အသံုးအႏႈန္းသည္လည္းတူေသာအဓိပၸါယ္ရွိသည္။
1. 'It's a lovely hotel, but the food was dreadful.'
အရမ္းႏွစ္လိုဖြယ္ေကာင္းတဲ့ ဟိုတယ္ပါပဲ၊ ဒါေပမယ့္အစားအေသာက္ကေတာ့ အရမ္းညံ့တယ္။
2. 'I told you so before you booked! We stayed there last year.'
ၾကိဳတင္စာရင္းမေပးခင္ကတည္းက ငါေျပာခဲ့တယ္ေလ။ ငါတို႔မႏွစ္က အဲ့ဒီမွာပဲေနခဲ့တာ။
There you go (ေရာ့ေဟာဒီမွာ)
You say there you go when you are giving something to someone or have done something for someone that they asked you to do:
ေရာ့ေဟာဒီမွာ (there you go) ကို တစ္စံုတစ္ဦးအား တစ္စံုတစ္ရာေပးသည့္အခါတြင္ (သို႔) သင့္အားတစ္စံုတစ္ဦးမွ ေတာင္းဆိုထားသည့္ ကိစၥအား လုပ္ေဆာင္ျပီးသည့္အခါတြင္ သံုးသည္။
1. There you go. That's the book you ordered.
ေရာ့ေဟာဒီမွာ။ ခင္ဗ်ားမွာထားတဲ့စာအုပ္။
2. There you go. That's your car cleaned now.
ေရာ့ေဟာဒီမွာ။ ခင္ဗ်ားကားသန္႔သြားျပီ။
There's no time like the present (အခုအခ်ိန္ေလာက္ေကာင္းတဲ့အခ်ိန္မရွိဘူး)
You say there's no time like the present when you think that it would be best to do something right away:
အခုအခ်ိန္ေလာက္ေကာင္းတဲ့အခ်ိန္မရွိဘူး (there's no time like the present) ကို ကိစၥတစ္စံုတစ္ခုအား ခ်က္ခ်င္းလုပ္ေဆာင္သင့္သည္ဟု မွတ္ယူသည့္အခါတြင္ သံုးသည္။
1. I really should tidy my bedroom.
ငါ့အိပ္ခန္းကို သပ္သပ္ရပ္ရပ္ျဖစ္ေအာင္လုပ္သင့္ျပီထင္တယ္။)
There's no time like the present I’ll help you.
အခုအခ်ိန္ေလာက္ေကာင္းတဲ့အခ်ိန္မရွိဘူး။ ငါမင္းကိုကူညီမယ္။
2. 'I've been meaning to have a party but never seem to get round to organizing one.'
ငါ ပါတီပြဲလုပ္ခ်င္ေနတာၾကာျပီ ဒါေပမယ့္အစီအစဥ္ကို မဆြဲျဖစ္ႏုိင္တာ။
'There's no time like the present! Why not have it this weekend?'
အခုအခ်ိန္ေလာက္ေကာင္းတဲ့အခ်ိန္မရွိဘူး။ ဒီတစ္ပါတ္ဆိုရင္ေရာ ဘယ္လိုလဲ။
That makes two of us (ငါလည္းတူတူပဲ)
You say that makes two of us when you are in the same position or situation as someone else:
ငါလည္းတူတူပဲ (that makes two of us) ကို တစ္စံုတစ္ဦးႏွင့္ အေျခအေန (သို႔) အျဖစ္အပ်က္ တူညီေနပါက သံုးသည္။
1. 'I've got a bad cold.'
ငါ အေအးဆိုးဆိုးရြားရြားမိေနတယ္။
'That makes two of us. I've been coughing and sneezing all morning.'
ငါလည္းတူတူပဲ။ တစ္မနက္လံုး ေခ်ာင္းဆိုးျပီး ႏွာေခ်ေနတာ။
2. 'I'd like to buy a new dress but I have very little money left this month.'
ဂါ၀န္အသစ္၀ယ္ခ်င္ေနတာ။ဒါေပမယ့္ ဒီလ ငါ့မွာ ပိုက္ဆံနည္းနည္းပဲက်န္ေတာ့တယ္။
That makes two of us.'
