I mean (ငါေျပာခ်င္တာက)

You use I mean when you wish to explain what you have just said:

ငါေျပာခ်င္တာက I mean ကို မၾကာမီက မိမိေျပာလိုက္ေသာ အေၾကာင္းအရာကို ရွင္းျပလိုေသာအခါတြင္ အသံုးျပဳသည္။

  1. I'm surprised that Jane and Mike have bought a flat together. l mean they've only known each other a few weeks.

      Jane နဲ႔ Mike ႏွစ္ေယာက္ေပါင္းၿပီး တိုက္ခန္းတစ္ခန္း၀ယ္လိုက္တာကို ငါ အံ့ၾသတယ္။ ငါေျပာခ်င္တာက သူတို႔ႏွစ္ေယာက္ အခ်င္းခ်င္းသိၾကတာ ရက္သတၱပတ္အနည္းငယ္ပဲရွိေသးတယ္။

  2. I can’t understand why Mum and Dad want to go there again on holiday. I mean it always rains and there's nothing for us to do.

      အေမနဲ႔အေဖဟာ ဘာ့ေၾကာင့္ အဲဒီေနရာကို အပန္းေျဖဖို႔ ထပ္သြားခ်င္တာလည္းဆိုတာကို ငါ နားမလည္ႏိုင္ဘူး။ ငါေျပာခ်င္တာက အဲဒီမွာ မိုးအၿမဲရြာၿပီး ငါတို႔ လုပ္စရာ ဘာမွ်လည္း မရွိဘူး။

You use what's more when you wish to add something to what you have just said, often something which is more important, more interesting or surprising:

ဒါ့အျပင္ what’s more ကို အမ်ားအားျဖင့္ အခုေလးတင္ သင္ေျပာလိုက္ေသာ အေၾကာင္းအရာ တစ္ခုခုေပၚတြင္ ပို၍ စိတ္၀င္စားဖြယ္ေကာင္းေသာ (သို႔) ပို၍ အံ့ၾသဖြယ္ေကာင္းတဲ့ အခ်က္အလက္တစ္ခုကို ထပ္ေလာင္းျဖည့္စြက္လိုေသာအခါ အသံုးျပဳသည္။

      Ken က အျခားစီးပြားေရးလုပ္ငန္းတစ္ခုမွာ အလုပ္သြားလုပ္ဖို႔ ထြက္ေတာ့မွာ။ ဒါ့အျပင္ သူ႕ရဲ႕ လက္ေထာက္ႏွစ္ေယာက္က သူနဲ႔လိုက္သြားမွာ။

At any rate (ဘယ္လိုပဲျဖစ္ျဖစ္)

You use at any rate when you are going to say something that is more exact or more accurate than what you have just said:

ဘယ္လိုပဲျဖစ္ျဖစ္ at any rate ကို သင္ ယခုပင္ ေျပာလိုက္ေသာအေၾကာင္းအရာထက္ပို၍ တိက်ေသာ (သို႔) ပို၍ အေသးစိတ္က်ေသာ အေၾကာင္းကို ေျပာလိုေသာအခါ အသံုးျပဳသည္။

  1. The house repairs will take three months. At any rate, that's what the builder told us.

      အိမ္ျပင္ဆင္မႈျပဳလုပ္တာ သံုးလၾကာမယ္။ ဘယ္လိုပဲျဖစ္ျဖစ္ အဲ့ဒါ ငါတို႔ကို ကန္ထရိုက္က ေျပာခဲ့တာေလ။

   2. Jill is going to repay the money. At any rate, she promised me that she would.

      Jill က ေငြကို ျပန္ဆပ္မွာပါ။ ဘယ္လိုပဲျဖစ္ျဖစ္ သူ ဆပ္ပါ့မယ္လို႔ ငါ့ကို ကတိေပးသြားခဲ့တယ္

Really? ( တကယ္)

You say really? when you have just heard something that surprises you or interests you very much:

တကယ္ really ကို သင့္အား အံ့အားသင့္ေစေသာ (သို႔) စိတ္၀င္စားေစေသာ အေၾကာင္းအရာ တစ္ခုခုကို ၾကားလိုက္ပါက ေျပာႏိုင္ပါသည္။

  1. 'Fred's given up football.'

      Fred က ေဘာလံုးကို စြန္႕လႊတ္လိုက္ျပီ

      'Really? He told me that he was going to play for another two seasons.'

      တကယ္။ ငါ့ကိုေတာ့့သူက ေနာက္ထပ္၂ ရာသီ ထပ္ကစားဦးမယ္ေျပာတယ္

  2. 'Jane's had a baby.'

      Jane က ကေလးေမြးျပီ

      'Really? I didn't know she was pregnant.'

      တကယ္ သူမကိုယ္၀န္ရွိတာ ငါမသိလုိက္ဘူး

There you are (ေရာ့ဒီမွာ)

You say there you are when you give or pass something to somebody:

ေရာ့့ဒီမွာ။ there you are ကို တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္အား သင့္အေနျဖစ္ အရာတစ္ခုခုကို ေပးေသာအခါ (သို႔) လက္ဆင့္ကမ္းေပးေသာအခါ ေျပာပါသည္။

  1. There you are. That's $5 change.

      ေရာ့ဒီမွာပါ။ အဲဒါ ျပန္အမ္းေငြ 5 ေဒၚလာပါ။)

  2. There you are. That's the key to the front door:

      ေရာ့ဒီမွာပါ။ အဲဒါ အိမ္ေရွ႕တံခါးရဲ႕ ေသာ့ပါ။
